Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson two lawyers. When she was only five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and went to at the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she decided that she wanted to be an actor. The actress trained for several years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. As a ten year old Emma was a participant in a variety of Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) is the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel was cast for the very first occasion in the year 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, as well as Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for the role. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film appearance came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film was also the most successful film in 2001. The opening weekend and day the sales were unbeatable. The film was praised by critics and its performances by the three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, praised Emma's performances "amazing". Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for the Feature Film. She was later recognized five times in recognition of her part in the film.
