Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September, 1983 in Worthington Ohio, USA is an American actor. She is famous for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well on ABC's Lost television series. Her birthplace was Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of high school after her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. In 2001, despite her financial struggles it was possible get her first significant role in the online video show Rachel's Room as the principal character. She went on to earn an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford played the lead actor in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace decided to leave the series to concentrate on her film career. She had appeared alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog in 2005. She starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. The same character was played by Grace in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. She appeared in 2013's sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith an actress in a group and as an muse for the stars, who catches the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. Part of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career as a teenager with small roles in several of her father's films and appeared together with her brother in famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for an Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) as well as the love story Secretary (2002). The two films received acclaim from critics. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008, following many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal.
