Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September, 1983 in Worthington Ohio, USA is an American actor. She is famous for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well on ABC's Lost television series. Her birthplace was Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of high school after her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. In 2001, despite her financial struggles it was possible get her first significant role in the online video show Rachel's Room as the principal character. She went on to earn an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder in Greenwich. Part of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career as a teenager with small roles in several of her father's films and appeared together with her brother in famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003).
