Chaka Khan is an American artist and singer with a net value of $30,000. Chaka Khan is sometimes referred to as the "Queen Of Funk-Soul". Khan is a ten-time Grammy Award winner whose career has been a continuous four decades.She was born Yvette Marie Stevens on the 23rd of March 1953. She was born into a bohemian and creative family living in Chicago, Illinois. She is the eldest of five children born to beatniks Charles Stevens and Sandra Coleman. Khan was a big fan of music and rhythm from the age of. At the age of eleven, she founded a girl group called The Crystalettes. In her teen years, Khan attended several civil rights protests and joined the Black Panther Party after befriending activist and close friend Chicago native Fred Hampton in 1967. She was given the name Chaka Adunne A. Hodarhi Karifi at age 13 by Yoruba Baba. In 1969, Khan left the Black Panthers and dropped out of high school. Khan began singing in small groups around the Chicago area. They had more than eight platinum records over the rest of the decade. Khan's powerful vocals and colorful stage attire made the group a popular live performer.
